The State Real Estate Inspector Examination does not test standards of practice or codes of ethics, but rather tests the technical competency of home inspection professionals. This provides valuable flexibility and protects against association-based bias in examination by accommodating each state and their desire to create their own specific standards of practice and code of ethics.

The State Real Estate Inspector Examination is currently recognized for licensing in Kansas, Kentucky and West Virginia.
