Chapter Reinvestment Program Overview

This program is designed to encourage and promote the development of healthy chapters by increasing the regular communication between chapters and NAHI National. There are both chapter obligations and NAHI national obligations involved, so we'll need to work together. In doing so, we will strengthen NAHI chapters and our national presence.

NAHI Chapter Obligations

  1. Chapter will hold at least 3 meetings each calendar year.
  2. Chapter will submit a chapter meeting schedule to the NAHI Office by Nov 15th, 2010 for the 2011 program year.
    1. Complete details are not required in advance, but at minimum, meeting dates and times must be communicated. The rest can be filled in as the information becomes available.
  3. Chapter will submit a simple online report following each meeting they conduct.  The report will contain the following basic information:
    1. Date and meeting location
    2. Number in attendance
    3. Speakers and topics
    4. Miscellaneous
  4. Chapter will submit an attendee list following each meeting. NAHI will provide the sign-in form to track meeting attendance. Simply have your chapter meeting attendees sign in and then scan or fax the form to the NAHI Office. NAHI will tabulate, track, and award CEU's accordingly.
  5. Chapter will submit an annual roster of current chapter members to the NAHI Office by Nov 15 each year so that dues discounts (below) can be tabulated.
  6. Chapter must have a current version of chapter bylaws on file with the NAHI Office by Nov 15. If your chapter does not currently have bylaws, we will work with you to develop them.
  7. Chapter must have a signed copy of the chapter charter and any government correspondence (i.e., Article of Incorporation, tax-exempt status, etc.)  on file with the NAHI Office by Nov 15.

NAHI National Obligations

To encourage chapters to meet the above requirements, NAHI has created an incentive program.  When a chapter meets the annual requirements, NAHI will provide each active chapter member a 10% discount to be applied to the subsequent year's annual dues.

"Active chapter member" is a chapter member who is current on their chapter membership dues (if applicable) and who has attended no less than 50% of meetings actually held by the chapter during the year that precedes the year in which they shall receive a national dues discount. All chapter members will be awarded this discount for the 2011 dues year.

NAHI will also track chapter member CEU's for chapters. Once a chapter submits the sign-in sheet for a meeting to NAHI, NAHI will tabulate the CEU's, apply them to each member's record, and provide a tally list back to each chapter.

NAHI will increase its communication with chapters to remind chapters of reporting deadlines.

Program Benefits

  • Improves communication between chapters and the NAHI Office.
  • Provides a framework by which chapter leader and member incentives can be measured.
  • Creates credibility for NAHI and builds a stronger national presence.
  • Increases chapter visibility:

    • NAHI will help advertise chapter meeting information on www.nahi.org, the NAHI Forum, and the bi-weekly NAHI Update.
    • Meeting reports submitted by chapters will be included in the next Forum Magazine and/or posted on www.nahi.org as a way of informing other interested parties of what chapters are doing, and what non-chapter members might have missed by not attending, and will give fellow chapter leaders ideas for their own meetings and events.

Struggling Chapters

Chapters who do not meet these requirements will be considered "inactive" and a process will be initiated that is designed to get the chapter back on-track or, if getting the chapter into compliance is not possible, a formal process for dissolving a chapter will be initiated.
