Paul Hayman, P.E. is an engineer with over 20 years experience as a home inspector.  He created the largest home inspection company in South Dakota and drafted the Home Inspector Standards of Practice for the South Dakota Real Estate Commission when the state began regulating home inspectors in 2001.  He has conducted training for home inspectors in every aspect of the business including marketing and legal issues.  Author of the book, "The Idiot's Guide to Common Household Disasters," he also holds an engineering license in over 40 states.  His current company, Hayman Residential Engineering Services, Inc provides engineering certificates for HUD compliant permanent foundations on manufactured homes to lenders coast to coast.  His extensive background in both engineering and home inspections has created a unique opportunity for home inspectors nationwide to expand their services and increase their income.

Currently, anyone who purchases a manufactured home with an FHA loan (which the vast majority do) must obtain an engineering certificate from a licensed engineer certifying compliance with HUD standards for permanent foundations on manufactured housing.  There are literally thousands of these engineering certificates required every year in every state.   In many areas of the country, lenders have been unable to find engineers to provide the service.  Hayman Residential Engineering Services, Inc (Hayman RES) has taken a unique approach to offer home inspectors an additional income opportunity.  Interested home inspectors are trained to gather the data needed to determine compliance and email it to Hayman RES.  The engineering certificate is then created and delivered to the lender by the engineer.  Home inspectors can earn a minimum $100-$150 for a 10-15 minute inspection with virtually no liability concerns.  In certain areas of the country, they may be able to earn significantly more per inspection. 

Orders are generated by Hayman RES and assigned to participating inspectors.  Individual inspectors are also trained to market this service locally to real estate companies and local lenders.  This is a natural market for home inspectors that, until now, they could not develop.  Now, home inspectors can market a new service, create new income opportunities and generate more visibility for the home inspection business.  This webinar will explain the basics of the program to interested inspectors who wish to expand their income opportunities.  Inspectors must be able to take digital photographs and email them.  There is no cost to join the inspection network.
