Tennessee Licensure (Enacted 2005)

Tennessee home inspectors are licensed and regulated by the Department of Commerce and Insurance. The following licensing requirements apply:

• Successful completion of high school or equivalent

• Successful completion of 90 hours of approved education

• Successful passage of the National Home Inspector Exam

The following insurance requirements apply:

• General liability insurance - $500,000

• Errors and omission insurance
