South Carolina Licensure (Enacted 1996)

South Carolina home inspectors are licensed and regulated by the Residential Builder Commission. The following licensing requirements apply:

• Provide evidence that the home inspector is a certified member of a home inspector association recognized by the Commission, which requires successful completion of a written examination to become certified

• Has home inspection experience of no less than one year and 50 inspections under direct supervision
