Louisiana home inspectors are licensed and regulated by the State Board of Home Inspectors. The following license requirements apply:

• 18 years of age or older

• Successful completion of high school or equivalent

• Successful completion of 120 hours of approved education, 90 hours of which must be classroom training and 30 to 40 hours of infield training

• Successful passage of the National Home Inspection Exam

• General liability insurance - $300,000

• Errors and omissions insurance - $300,000
