Kansas State Regulations (enacted 2008)

Kansas home inspectors are registered in the Kansas Home Inspector Registration Board.  The following requirements apply:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • Successful completion of high school or equivalent

  • Successful completion of 80 hours of board approved education

  • Successful passage of either the NAHI State Real Estate Inspector Examination or National Home Inspector Exam


The following insurance requirements apply:

  • General liability insurance - $100,000

  • One of the following:
    • Errors and Omissions - $10,000 or greater
    • Irrevocable Letter of Credit
    • Escrow Account - $10,000 or greater
    • Surety Bond - $10,000 or greater
