Illinois home inspectors are licensed and regulated by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. The following licensing requirements apply:

• 21 years of age or older

• Successful completion of high school or equivalent

• Successful completion of 60 hours of approved education

• Successful passage of the National Home Inspector Exam
