Jim Makara

Jim has over 13 years experience as a home remodeling contractor which included performing projects such as: vinyl siding, windows, decks, small additions, kitchens, bathrooms and basements. His company, County Wide Inspections, Inc. was established in 2001 and has performed inspections in both residential and light commercial buildings. Jim has been a member of NAHI since 2001 and an active member in his local chapter where he has served as treasurer for 2 years and secretary for 2 years. Jim attributes part of his success as a home inspector to his local chapter. It is there that he gets continuing education from both the monthly speakers and past experiences of the chapter members.

Dave graduated from Penn State with a degree in Landscape Architecture.  Operating as a design build contractor for many years, he was exposed to various trades such as roofing, electrical, plumbing and carpentry, which included a lot of hands on training.  An accredited Home Inspector School formally trained him. Dave served as the treasurer for
two years for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of NAHI  PA.  Dave is also a Pennsylvania DEP certified radon remediation contractor.  He has been performing Home Inspections and installing Radon Remediation Systems for ten years.

Rick, with an Architectural degree from Temple University, has over 20 years of architectural experience in both residential and commercial design and construction. He also has 15 years of Project and Construction Management experience. This has provided him with an in depth knowledge of building materials as well as a good attention to detail from the roof to the basement. Through continuing education of building products and services and commitment to honesty, Rick feels that he can give the customer the most up-to-date and reliable  information. Rick has been a member of NAHI since 2006 and a member of the American Institute of Architects since 1999.  Rick is a certified Home Inspector through the American Home Inspectors Training Institute (AHIT).

With hundreds of inspections and over twenty years in rehabbing, remodeling and real estate investing, Bill brings a unique professional perspective to the home inspection. His background in real estate includes purchasing numerous properties, which helps him understand the various concerns the home buyer brings to the home inspection. He was a master automotive technician, owned his own transmission franchise prior to starting his home inspection company in 2004. Jules is a NAHI CRI member with U.S. Inspect, and has personally performed more than 12,000 home inspections since 1972. He currently manages sixteen inspectors serving the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley markets.  In addition to providing home inspection services, Jules is also a consultant in construction planning and cost analysis, construction defects evaluation, and serves as a expert witness in the areas of construction defects, construction cost projections, roofing, water intrusion, heating, plumbing, AC, and electrical. He is also a sought after presenter within the real estate and legal community, and academia (Temple University) in such areas as construction, residential systems, dispute resolution, marketing/public relations, report writing, radon testing and mitigation, and consumer benefits of home inspection.  Jules is also a certified in radon and wood destroying inspects, and has published works in the areas of cost projections, construction, home inspection, and is a regular contributor to numerous print media sources.

Curtis Niles Sr. has  been in the Real Estate Industry since 1994. Prior to Home Inspections, he owned and operated a contracting company, which performed various contracting services from Massachusetts to Maryland.  In his company's history he has personally performed every aspect of home improvement/remodeling on all types of homes, from new construction to 100+ year old historic homes.  This provided him with significant, and in depth knowledge of various types of construction methods.  Though in his career he has completed numerous commercial projects, he maintained a focus on historic homes and is renown in his area for quality workmanship. Curtis is committed to Truth, Honesty, and Education as he carries out his various roles as; President of his company, New Inspector Trainer/Mentor, Past President (Board of Directors) of the local Southeast NAHI Chapter (NAHIPA);  He also serves on the National Chapters committee, Circle of Advocates Member, National Legislative Board Member for NAHI.  He is also recognized in his area's judicial system as an Expert Witness.  As Past Chapter President, he has been instrumental in the current drafting of the proposed Home Inspector Law currently in the State Legislature.  He has established his chapter's e-newsletter and has authored published articles in national publications.  Curtis maintains licenses/certifications and/or affiliations in: Radon measurement by the PA DEP, PA Lic. Real Estate Agent, Certified Mold Inspector (CMI) by The Environmental Solutions Assoc., an affiliate member of the Local Board of Realtors, and a NAHI Certified Real Estate Inspector (CRI). While under his 4 year leadership as President, his chapter earned the coveted 2008 NAHI Chapter Award for outstanding chapter promotion, membership, and legislative initiative.  Curtis is also the recipient of the 2007 NAHI Member of The Year Award and was elected to the National Board of Directors in 2008, he presently serves in the office of Secretary for 2009.
