Chapter Details

The NAHI of Hudson Valley Chapter is located in the lower tier of New York State with close proximity to the universally known New York City Metro area. The Chapter was founded in May of 2004, by NAHI CRI member Igor Smetaniuk.

The purpose of starting the Chapter was to establish a NAHI presence in this area and supplement continuing education to Home Inspectors providing professional Home Inspections to the Real Estate community. Soon after the Chapter was initiated, Officers were elected and bylaws implemented in the foreground for filing as a Non-Profit Corporation of New York State.

Education is provided to enhance the knowledge of the newcomer as well as the veteran Home Inspector. Meetings are scheduled with guest speakers having backgrounds such as industry specialist, educator or products representative. Also, round table discussion lends a great degree of hands on experiences passed on by peers and creates area specific awareness amongst the group.

Home inspections are extremely demanding these days and the Chapter strives to prepare individuals for any challenging situations. This Chapter welcomes anyone to join.  Our focus will always be "excellence through education" and quality, not quantity, of members.

The current membership of Home Inspectors covers a vast amount of Cities and Rural towns that are located throughout Putnam and Dutchess counties, east of the Hudson River and Rockland, Orange, Ulster, Sullivan counties on the West side of the Hudson River. Long distance travel is commonplace to the NAHI inspector for this region.

Anyone interested in attending a NAHI of Hudson Valley Chapter meeting should contact the Chapter President. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month, except for July and August. The location changes at times and should be confirmed prior to each meeting. An email reminder is sent a few days ahead and anyone can subscribe to this means of notification by forwarding your email address to the President of the chapter.
