Our mission:

“The NAHI Legislative Committee is dedicated to promoting the vitality of the home inspection industry in the public policy arena, while keeping the needs of the consumer and all NAHI members foremost in mind.”

The National Association of Home Inspectors and its 1,200 member strong voice is dedicated to representing the very best in home inspection. This is evidenced by our Legislative Mission Statement and our numerous position statements, which speak directly to NAHI’s commitment to fairness through addressing issues such as the proper role of ethics and the effects of tiered licensing regimes in public policy.

Consumer complaints and unjust practices often drive the creation of public policy. Many of the issues that home inspector’s face on a day-to-day basis extend to the nuts and bolts creation of home inspector regulation. NAHI has continued to monitor many issues and has taken principled stands to ensure that our members and the policymakers of the individual states are adequately informed of the nuances behind the issue debates.

NAHI’s position statements attempt to break down each element of an issue, This in depth analysis gives support to NAHI ability to take a stand that encompasses not only at today’s trend, but looks toward tomorrows reality. The positions taken by NAHI are not based on ideologies behind an issue, but rather serve as a comprehensive analysis of each issue and the real-life impact they will have on the home inspection industry now and into the future.
